2014-2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 Wheel, Tire & Suspension Fitment Guide

Chevy’s leap from the second generation to the third of the Silverado 1500 was their most advanced leap in terms of luxury and technology. Their High Country trim was Chevy’s first foray into the premium truck category. These newer Silverado 1500s were meant to be smoother and quieter than ever before, and after 2015 an 8-speed transmission upgrade was added for faster acceleration and smoother shifting between gears.

Stock Wheel & Tire Fitment for the Third Generation (2014-2018) Chevy Silverado 1500

On its release, the third Silverado 1500 came with quite a few different tire and wheel sizes to choose from. Tire sizes were available in 255/70, 265/70, 265/65, 275/55 and 285/45. Available wheel sizes came in 17x8, 18x8.5, 20x9, and 22x9. This Silverado sports a bolt pattern of 6x5.5 so you’ll want to make sure that any wheel you want to use on your build fits that pattern, otherwise you’ll have to make sure you have an adapter to get it to fit.

When it comes to our gallery, we see plenty of Silverado 1500s that sport a combination of tires between 34-36” with wheels around 17 or 18” in diameter. This is a good mix of making your rig off-road capable while still looking aggressive and stylish. And don’t forget that if you want to add a higher lift than 4 or 5 inches to your truck, it’s important to keep suspension geometry in mind. If your suspension isn’t in proper balance, you can cause massive damage to your rig.
