2010-2018 Dodge Ram 3500 Wheel, Tire & Suspension Fitment Guide
Much like the rest of the Ram family, the Fourth Generation Dodge Ram 3500 became known as the Ram 3500 in 2010 when Ram branched off from Dodge as their pickup truck division. The fourth gen featured a few different cab sizes, regular, quad, crew as well as a chassis cab variant. Available in several engine options, of course headlined by the Cummins turbodiesel engine that produced up to 385 horsepower and 900 ft of torque. This truck is a no-brainer for drivers looking to handle heavy loads with relative ease.
The 3500 line’s renowned strength makes it a more than capable choice as an off-roader. But with a truck like this, you might wonder what wheels and tires might be the best fit to take it out on the trails. If that’s the case, then this fitment guide will have the answers you seek. Our gallery can show different tire, wheel and suspension options to turn your Ram into your next custom build that’s geared to crush any trail you decide to take on. Let’s take a look and see what will best fit your fourth generation Ram 3500!
Stock Wheel & Tire Fitment On The Fourth Generation (2010-2018) Ram 3500
Stock sizing options for the fourth gen of Ram 3500s came in tire sizings of either 275/70 or 285/60 fresh out of production. To go along with the tires, available wheel sizes for this particular truck came in either 18x8 or 20x8 options, and featured a bolt pattern of 8x6.5. This is important to keep in mind when choosing a set of wheels, because you’ll want to make sure that any wheel you have in mind for your build fits that pattern, otherwise you’ll have to make sure you have an adapter to get it to fit.
Given the 3500s reputation for size and power, it’s no surprise that the builds shown in our gallery share the common theme of huge tires and also pretty big wheels. When taking a look, you’ll see a lot of 35-37” tires with wheel sizes anywhere between 17-20” in diameter, but most serious off-road enthusiasts won’t go higher than 20” on their wheels. This combination plus a leveling kit or a suspension lift between 3-5 inches to maximize ground clearance. One important thing to note with a taller suspension lift is your suspension geometry in mind. If your suspension isn’t in proper balance, you can cause massive damage to your rig.
