2015-2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 Wheel, Tire & Suspension Fitment Guide
The third generation Chevy Silverado 2500 rolled out in 2015 and was seen as a significant upgrade over the previous model in a number of areas. Chevy made significant improvements to the Silverado’s towing capability, technology, and overall design. These updates continued to make the Silverado a top contender in the heavy duty truck market, competing directly with trucks like Ford’s Super Duty and Ram’s HD series. A powerful and capable truck, the Silverado combines dependability with comfort.

Let’s get started!
Stock Wheel & Tire Fitment for the Third Generation Chevy Silverado 2500
The third generation of the Chevy Silverado 2500 came off the production line with a couple different fitments for tires and wheels. Available tire sizes are either a 245/75 or 265/70 and for wheels the different sizes are a 17x7.5 and 18x8. This model Silverado features a bolt pattern of 8x180, which is important to remember when choosing wheels for your custom build. You’ll want to make sure any wheel you’re looking at fits that bolt pattern, otherwise in order to get it to fit you’ll need to make sure you have an adapter in order to get the correct fit.
So now that we’ve covered that, let’s talk about custom wheels and tires. For pure off-roading performance, the name of the game is bigger tires and slightly smaller wheels. This combination gives you the best performance for uneven terrain and obstacles you might encounter. Tire sizes between 35 and 37 inches in height paired with wheels between 17 to 20 inches in diameter are ideal for the kind of trail dominance you’ll be looking for. Take that and combine it with a leveling kit or a lift kit between 4 to 6 inches in height and you’ll have the proper ground clearance to avoid obstacles and bumps on any kind of terrain. One thing to keep in mind with a lift kit of that height however is your suspension’s geometry. You’ll want to make sure that it’s properly aligned before going out on the trials. If it’s out of whack, you can end up causing massive damage to your rig’s suspension.
