2008-2010 Ford F-250 Wheel, Tire & Suspension Fitment Guide

The 2008-2010 version of the Ford F-250 came out swinging with a look that screamed business and a frame to match. This wasn’t some soft, city-slicker kind of truck–it was a heavy-duty brute with square shoulders, a no-nonsense attitude, and enough steel in its bones to handle just about anything you could throw at it. From job sites to trails, the second gen F-250 was built not only to show up but show out as well.

If you own a second generation Ford F-250 and you want to turn it into a powerful off-roader capable of handling any kind of terrain possible, we’re more than happy to help you out with that. Let this guide show you what kind of tires and wheels you need in order to make your F-250 an unstoppable beast that shrugs off mud, snow, and sand like it was nothing. We’ll also show examples of other F-250 owners’ builds to help inspire you to create a setup that looks just as good as it performs. Your Ford F-250 is a blank canvas, and we brought the paint to turn it into something incredible.

Stock Wheel & Tire Fitment for the Second Generation Ford F-250

When you’re looking at wheel and tire options for your F-250’s transformation into an off-road beast, it often helps to know what your Ford came equipped with off the production line. Original tire sizes for the F-250’s second version were either a 245/75 or 265/70 size, and the accompanying wheel size was a 17x7.5 for both. The bolt pattern for the Ford F-250 is a 8x170 pattern which is something you’ll want to remember. Knowing your bolt pattern is critical when looking for wheels. Any wheel you’re thinking of running on your F-250 needs to fit that pattern, otherwise you’ll have to use an adapter to get the right fit if they don’t.

So now that we’ve covered what you’re most likely starting with, here’s what you’ll need to really boost your F-250’s off-road capability. Ditch those factory tires and wheels, you’ll need bigger and better. For tires, think 33 inches in height or taller, and combine that with wheels between 17-20 inches in diameter. Now take those two and throw in a lift or leveling kit and you’re set to go. These upgrades will give you the right ground clearance, stance, and crawling ability over uneven terrain to conquer the trails while keeping your F-250 safe and protected. But if you decide to go big on your suspension, just make sure your suspension’s geometry is properly aligned. If not, you’ll end up causing damage to your rig, and nobody wants that.
