Stock Wheel & Tire Fitment for the Fourth Generation GMC Sierra 2500

Options abound with the stock sizes for the GMC Sierra 2500 when it comes off the production line. Available tire sizes were a 245/75, 265/70 or a 265/60 option. Wheel sizes came in choices of either 17x7, 18x8, or a bigger 20x8. The bolt pattern on a GMC Sierra 2500 is 8x180, which is important to remember when looking for a set of custom wheels. You’re going to want to make sure any wheels you’re considering for your truck fit that specific bolt pattern, otherwise in order to get the correct fit you’re going to need to use an adapter.

In our gallery, you’ll notice a similar trend with Sierra 2500 builds. We see a lot of bigger tires, smaller wheels, and tall suspension lifts. The typical range for tire height is anywhere between 33-37 inches tall, combined with wheels anywhere between 17-20 inches in diameter, combined with suspension lifts of 3 inches or more in height. Combining these gives a Sierra the proper ground clearance and stance to navigate difficult terrain and all kinds of obstacles you might encounter on your journeys. But when you’re rolling with a tall suspension, you’ll want to make sure you suspension geometry is properly aligned before taking it out. If it’s not, you can end up causing massive damage to your suspension, so keep that in mind.
