Quick Overview of Suzuki Samurai History

Perhaps you might be wondering what this model is in the first place, and it's actually got quite the story to tell. The Suzuki Samurai, introduced to the American market in 1985, quickly gained popularity among enthusiasts thanks in large part to its handling, design, and ease of maintenance. Produced until 1995, this compact off-roader featured a 1.3-liter, 63-horsepower, inline-four engine, coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission and a part-time four-wheel-drive system.

Known for its lightweight design and exceptional off-road capability, the Samurai offered impressive maneuverability and durability. Its simple mechanics made it easy to modify and repair, cementing its status within the off-road community. Despite its small size, the Samurai's robust frame and solid front and rear axles made it a formidable competitor on rugged terrains.

Suzuki Samurai Bolt Pattern and Most Common Wheel/Tire Sizes

Now, if you want to get yourself some Samurai wheels, the options are really easy. The Samurai came with a 5x139.7 (5x5.5-inch) bolt pattern, and just about every Samurai build in our gallery is running 15x8 wheels on the model. Easy enough, right?

Well, it gets even better. Stock Samurai models can fit 31-inch tires rather comfortably inside the wheel well, and if you want to spring for a suspension kit (and do some trimming) you can get 35's to fit in these vehicles too. We've got a few examples to show you straight from our gallery - check them out and see what you like!
