2007-2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser Wheel, Tire and Suspension Fitment Guide

Ever one to bring capable, durable off-roaders into the fold, Toyota made quite a splash around the turn of the 2010s decade with its FJ Cruiser, a crossover/SUV almost tailor made for off-road adventures.

Built from the 2007 model year until its discontinuation in 2014 (although production remained in the Middle East until 2022), the FJ Cruiser featured a body-on-frame construction technique not unlike the 4Runner, which allowed it to be strong and rigid to withstand tons of abuse on the trails. That alone has made it a continual favorite rig to build in the enthusiast community, but the question still remains - what fits this thing?

That's where we come in. Join us below as we show you the best wheel and tire fitments for the Toyota FJ Cruiser - this will be easy, because we only have one generation to look at. Let's dive in and see what you can do to make the FJ Cruiser capable of going anywhere you want!

Toyota FJ Cruiser Bolt Pattern and Most Common Wheel Size Specs

As mentioned above, the FJ Cruiser only had one generation to speak of, lasting from its market debut for MY2007 up until 2014. This model features wheels with a bolt pattern of 5x139.7mm (5x5.5 inches), and most drivers we've seen have built it with wheels between 16 and 18 inches in diameter and 8 to 9 inches in width. The most popular wheel sizes in our gallery for the FJ Cruiser are listed below:

  • 16x8
  • 17x8
  • 17x8.5
  • 17x9
  • 18x9

Along with this, your best bet is to run 35 inch tires with most of these setups, although 33's will also work just fine if you want to avoid too much rubbing or needing to trim your model to fit. Sizing up like this may also require a suspension kit to get the clearance you need, but we've seen leveled FJ Cruisers in our gallery that are able to accommodate 33-inch tires just fine.

We've sourced a few of our favorite FJ Cruiser builds from the gallery below so you can see what the different wheel and tire combos look like. Check 'em out!
